For two decades, Patricia has worked with students and families as a therapist and learning disabilities specialist. She served as the first Director of Learning Services at the Bay School of San Francisco, a private independent high school. There, she developed the learning services program and taught ninth grade study skills. Patricia is a book reviewer for The Educational Therapist and has published articles on student learning issues. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Association of Educational Therapists. (California License LMFT 13146)
Patricia began her career as a special education teacher in Bay Area independent schools after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a learning disabilities credential at Western Illinois University. As part of her Master’s level training in clinical psychology and family therapy at Lone Mountain College and the University of San Francisco, Patricia received training in intelligence and psychological testing under the supervision of practicing clinical psychologists. Patricia has held the position of Research Associate in the Human Development Program at the University of California, San Francisco, where her responsibilities included quantitative measurement and analysis.
In 2002, Patricia completed a certificate program in educational therapy at San Francisco State University that included supervised testing and instruction within the public school system. Coursework in Literacy Assessment at the University of California, Berkeley further involved her in classroom testing and academic planning.
